Pixel count and processor names establish hardware positioning; they do not establish image quality, sustained speed or endurance. The bigger Pro Max battery suggests greater capacity, but its larger screen and potentially different chip also change power use. No battery-life comparison should be inferred from the mAh figures alone.

Buy now or wait for a regional model?

The China launch does not supply an international price, final market list or tested behavior for every region. The Verge reports that at least one 18 Pro model is due internationally later in 2026, but does not identify which one or a firm date. Importing now could mean accepting a China-market configuration and support terms without knowing the later regional offering. A buyer whose current phone works can wait for the exact local model, its warranty and independent privacy-display and battery tests.

For someone who needs a privacy-display phone now, Samsung's S26 Ultra is a distinct alternative with documented app and notification controls. It is an Ultra-class device larger than the compact 18 Pro. Samsung's published guide does not describe Xiaomi's reported floating-window behavior, so the phones should not be equated in size or software. The useful comparison is the task: keeping sensitive content harder to read from the side while maintaining a usable front view. Neither company's feature replaces an app lock, careful notification settings or discretion with highly sensitive material.
