Nvidia is working with eight Australian infrastructure providers on a buildout targeting up to 2GW by 2027, according to its September 9 announcement, covered by The Next Web on September 10, 2026.
What the plan covers
The partners are Firmus, Sharon AI, IREN, Megaport, ResetData, CDC, NEXTDC and AirTrunk. Nvidia describes expansion of land, power and building capacity intended to accommodate successive generations of its DSX platform. The providers would operate the facilities; Nvidia supplies the computing, networking and software architecture.
What remains to be demonstrated
The figure is a planned upper bound, not evidence that 2GW of AI computing is operational. The Next Web notes that the announcement does not provide a complete site-by-site delivery timetable or an overall investment figure.
