Lenovo has introduced the IdeaPad Vibe, a mainstream laptop family that combines 14- and 15-inch sizes with seven color options and a choice of Qualcomm or AMD processors. The Verge reported on the machines on September 3, 2026, and Lenovo’s own announcement confirms the design and availability outline.
More than a color refresh
Lenovo developed the palette with the Pantone Color Institute and offers names ranging from Chill Blue and Zen Green to Radiant Coral and Dreamy Violet. Some configurations use an all-metal chassis while others pair metal with a polymer lower cover. Lenovo says the lightest versions start at 1.3 kilograms.
The Verge also saw customizable keycaps and a backlit keyboard. Those details make the Vibe unusual in a segment where external design often changes little between models. Color choice is subjective, but replaceable keycaps may give the customization a longer life than a fixed finish.
Processor choice changes the upgrade path
Qualcomm configurations use Snapdragon X processors and support Copilot+ PC features, with memory configurations up to 24 GB according to The Verge. AMD versions use Ryzen AI 400-series processors and can reach 32 GB of user-upgradeable dual-channel memory. Lenovo says storage can expand to 1 TB, while The Verge reports two user-accessible SSD slots.
That distinction is more important than the paint. Buyers choosing between platforms should verify application compatibility, battery behavior and the exact memory arrangement for their region. Lenovo has not disclosed every base configuration, so assumptions about entry-level RAM would be premature.
A broad port selection with modest speeds
The reported port set includes two USB-C and two USB-A connections running at up to 5 Gbps, HDMI 1.4, a 3.5 mm audio jack and a microSD reader. Charging moves from a barrel connector to USB-C. IPS LCD panels are standard, with touch OLED options limited to selected colors and configurations.
This favors everyday connectivity and serviceability over maximum external-storage or display bandwidth. HDMI 1.4 and 5 Gbps USB are practical for common accessories but less capable than newer high-bandwidth standards. Buyers should match the exact SKU to their monitor and dock requirements.
Availability details vary
Lenovo says the 14- and 15-inch IdeaPad Vibe will begin arriving in Europe in October 2026 with an expected starting price of €799. The Verge reports different timing by processor family and a lower US starting point. Regional pricing, processor choices and color availability may therefore differ.
The useful comparison will come after final retail configurations are published. Independent testing should examine battery life, display quality, thermals, keyboard feel and performance rather than treating processor names or AI branding as a result.
